Johnny Depp continues to be lovable

"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" continued to dominate the world box-office for the second consecutive weekend. Malta was no exception. It is estimated that during the first two weeks, the swashbuckling film grossed over $625 million (Lm223 million / €519.45 million). However, there is a fear that "At World's End" will not match up to the success of its predecessor despite the fact that its correspondent threequel competitors, "Spiderman 3" and "Shrek the Third" did tremendously well. Second best in the US last weekend is "Knocked Up" starring "Grey's Anatomy"'s lovable Katherine Heigl.
From among this week's top ten in US, "Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End" and "Spider-Man 3" are showing in local cinemas. "Shrek The Third" opens later this month in local cinemas. Here is the list of the top 10 films in the US as compiled by Box Office Mojo for the three-day period from Friday 1 to Sunday 3 June, 2007: 1. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, $43.2 million 2. Knocked Up, $29.3 million 3. Shrek the Third, $26.7 million 4. Mr. Brooks, $10 million 5. Spider-Man 3, $7.5 million 6. Waitress, $2 million 7. Gracie, $1.4 million 8. Bug, $1.22 million 9. 28 Weeks Later, $1.2 million 10. Disturbia, $1.1 million
